Hello world!I’m Tatum Katz, an ORISE SCINet Postdoctoral Fellow with the USDA Agricultural Research Service.
I use data science and machine learning to help meat industry producers reduce Salmonella on their products to ensure a healthier public. I work with a diverse team of microbiologists, animal scientists, ecologists, and many others to identify holistic solutions to achieve this goal. I recently completed my PhD in ecology where I investigated vectors and reservoirs of the amphibian-killing pathogen Bd, specifically by using field data to parameterize and ground-truth a variety of statistical models which investigate how these alternative sources affect amphibian population dynamics. Here, you can read my blog, learn more about my research, check out my teaching philosophy, contact me, or view my CV. Thanks for stopping by! |
